Humblefish,

Hope you can help, I received a wrasse last Monday and there wasn't any white spots. On Tuesday night I saw about 4 to 5 white spots on different locations, than on Wednesday no spots at all. Usually with ich I would see white spots for 2 to 3 days. Been monitorig the wrasse for a week now, and I see no signs of flashing, scratching, twitching, heavy breathing and white spots. The wrasse is doing well, has a big appetite and eating. I don't want to medicate if I don't have too, so does ich spots disappear that fast? Could it have been sand or air bubbles?

Thank you

Sorry posted in wrong thread. Should of posted on the other one.

I would suspect sand, myself. What kind of wrasse is it?

Velvet can come and go that quickly as well

^^ Both are possible; Is this wrasse in a DT (or QT) with sand?

FYI; Moved posts into a new thread.
Currently in a holding tank with little to no sand but with live rocks. Monitoring to see if it needs to be moved to a QT tank to be medicated.

Earli Wrasse

Shouldn't the fish continue to show some sign of symptoms? It has been about a week and the fish looks, acts, and is eating normal.
No, wrasse have very thick slime coats and many (like your earli) sleep in mucous cocoons that help shield them from major reinfection. Many wrasse can live quite a while in velvet as a result. Some will hide it well and act like Typhoid Marys reinfecting the majority of your fish that cannot live in velvet.

Thanks for the info. Gonna fatten him up before putting him in QT with coppersafe.
