Hey Everyone,

This may be a dumb question, but at least I'm asking before I'm buying, right!?

I have a 41 gallon tank. It's arguably too stocked as it is, so understand that I would be removing either the cardinalfish or the angelfish to make room first.

It currently has:
2-Maroon Clowns
1-Mystery Wrasse
1-Flameback Angel
1-Bangaii Cardinal
1-Target Mandarin
1-Ruby Dragonet (although, this fish was very skinny and sick looking when I got him [got a good deal] and I haven't seen him in two days...so he could very well be dead already...yes, I know what their diet is, and I stock with copepods. My Mandarin is fat!)

So, my question is, which kind of wrasse can safely be added? I'm keeping the Mystery Wrasse. He's my killer torpedo! I fed him 4 pepper mints one time just for fun...one of them didn't make it half a second before he ripped it in two :croc:

I've been seeing some beautiful fairy wrasse varieties come into my LFS lately, and I really really want one. But, I don't want my Mystery killing it. Particularly, how would a Naoko Wrasse do? Will this just cause a fight to the death? What about a Christmas Wrasse? I'm assuming no on the Christmas Wrasse, but would like some input anyways.

I know wrasse can be broken into different sub-species or whatever you call them, so if anybody knows which sub-species can live peacefully together that would be great info. Thanks for any input!

Wrasses of the Pseudocheilinus genus are not compatible with other wrasses I'm afraid. Adding any in this size of tank with a mystery would likely be a disaster.

Dang. I was expecting that answer, but wanted an expert opinion. I've heard employees say both ways at the LFS (go figure) so I just wanted to double check. Thanks Evolved!

I have a 93 cube and have 11 Wrasse in it with no problems they all get along fine

How many fish total do you have in your system?? I'm at 7 right now but want to add maybe 7 more fairy wrasses to the tank.

I would, but I have a point of sale flip phone. No worries. I just figured 11 wrasse in a tank would be a very beautiful site. I'm sure you get a ton of pleasure out of tank watching!

Anything but a six line. Mine is the spawn of Satan.

Lol, I think that's why I love six lines so much. They're small, but they're like a manager with short person syndrome, always in your face, and always trying to push you around. I think they're a blast to watch! They're little b*stards for sure!

Whoah! Never heard of such a feat! Do you mind listing what kinds they are? Any pictures?

The thing is, none of these are Pseudocheilinus. Cirrhilabrus, Macropharyngodon, and Paracheilinus are better for mixing. Although you still need strategic stocking to accomplish that many.

By "litious" do you mean lineatus?
