Hey all, thanks for the help. I've got a sixline wrasse and a fairy wrasse in my QT right now, and the sixline has flukes, the fairy wrasse does not. I'd normally have already treated them with parazipro but, I stupidly skipped this step since during their fw dip last week, the didn't show any infection. So right now they're on copper. I'm only on the second day of the copper treatment, but the flukes seem to be a more pressing issue.

Should I put some carbon in to stop the copper treatment and the start prazi in a few days? Finish getting the copper to therapeutic levels and wait the 14 days? Start feeding General cure medicated feed?

Thanks for the help. I just hope it's not too late for these two.

I gave the fairy wrasse a dip too but no flukes, he's just sulking right now .

You can dose prazi while in copper, as long as you are careful to add plenty of aeration. I do this with a powerhead aimed at the surface, and an airstone. Could cause a bacterial bloom as a side-effect, so if the tank becomes cloudy- as long as it has been at least 10 or so hours since the prazi dose, you can do a waterchange (dosing the copper into the new water before it hits the tank) And don't forget the second prazi dose in 5-7 days :)

For what it's worth, I've had less bacterial blooms when using GC with copper. You need to increase your oxygenation when combining the GC or Prazipro with copper. Very important.

You are in good hands here with @ngoodermuth and @Frtdrmrose7 Excellent advice.

Okay. I'll get that set up in the morning then. I don't have a power head for the QT tank right now. I'm using cupramine for copper, would that make any difference adding the prazi?

Shouldn’t but as said above aerate heavily.

Thanks for the help . Ive now got a small power head in the tank, and an air stone running.

I do have a question about the fairy wrasse though now too. It's been 24 hours and he hasn't moved all that much, slow heavy gilling, and no response to food. I know a FW dip can be stressful, but has anyone had fish react similarly? Would trying to glide it through the water as humblefish suggests in the FW Dip guide, or just wait it out on this one?

Unfortunately it is up to him now, with flukes as we saw in the pics I’m sure he has heavily damaged gills. The only thing I could think that might help would be a methylene blue bath. The downside is. He is probably pretty weak now and I’m not sure he’d survive the bath. It would be up to you if you have MB.

^^ I got the fairy and 6 line confused. If the fairy didn’t have flukes then he may need some time. Slow heavy breathing is better than fast weak breathing. I think it may just be up to him. I’m assuming he has no other symptoms correct? You can try to hold him up in the flow if you want but that will add stress.
