Writing a grant for a reef tank

That's really interesting. It'd be nice to have that kind of teaching tool as well. I currently teach in West Virginia. Are you planning on building a thread on your tank and aquaponics fish farm?

Yes, I added both of those into my "requirements list" very early on. Both seem like they'll save a ton of frustration with the tank (and, in the case of the RODI, money as well.) Thanks for the suggestion on them, I appreciate the help!

I'm working part of that into the grant. I also teach a computer science class, and part of the standards for the CS class includes website design. I plan on having the environmental science kids research the information and have the CS kids create a website for my tank to allow the information to be visible at any time. I think it'd make the website design part of the class a little more interesting by having the website be on something they see daily rather than a cookie-cutter example from a book.

I will definitely take many pictures as things go up. Ithink a Build thread will work. may go look at a few so I can put a good one together.

Inside of 400 gal. thank. It has been sitting for some time with stagnant water in it. Started rehab this week decided to come in on Sat when kids were home to get the water out and start clean up. They were pretty grossed out when we opened the old bio canister to get old media out and clean. This thing will be up and cycling in a week or so when parts arrive, and we will have catfish in it in march. lettuce and cilantro growing after that.
