I have a 55 gallon tank, 36"x24"x15". I just bought a yellow eye tang, is my tank to small for it? Should i remove it? It's been in my tank for about 6 weeks, and seems to be doing well.

Is it a smaller tang? Might be alright for a bit, but only being 36"L tank is a bummer on his swim room. Typically you see tangs in a 4' minimum.

If it's still young you can leave it in there for a bit, but in an ideal world it should have at least a 4 foot tank, or 100G system; so eventually yes a 55G is too small, IMO.

How large is your Kole tang? If it's a small juvenile your tank is probably just fine. It may be too small for an adult however . Good excuse to get a larger tank .

It's about 3" long right now, seems to be happy. I would love a bigger tank, but it's just not going to happen for a while.

A 3" kole should be good for now but as it becomes larger I'd move it to a larger tank or give to another reefer / LFS.
