Wrong gorilla glue!

I have a 10 gal, I used clear gorilla glue to put some frags in place. I did some research and found out that it’s toxic when it degrades. I took all the frags out and tried to clean off the glue the best I could. Is my tank doomed? I’m sure there’s still trace amounts of the glue in the tank. What can I do to save my community if it is in danger? I feel like an idiot.

Run carbon. Should reduce toxicity Once cured, I don't see anything leeching that would cause harm to system as the amount of glue used is very small in amount

Thank you. I have the whole system running through some carbon pads now. Should I do a WC?

Water changes Never hurt and would reduce any toxicity

+1 on water changes and carbon. I always drop in an airstone too. It may reduce stress.

Fwiw even gel gorilla glue doesnt work very well. It creates a film once you dunk it under the water. Sometimes it has even covered the polyps during fragging. Also expensive.
I like loctite ultra gel control 100x better. A little cheaper too.

I use the gel gorilla brand superglue all the time. Which one are you saying is toxic? Can you post a pic of the one you researched and a bit more detail about what you found? Thanks!

I have used gorilla glue gel for more than 5 years, never killed nothing.
I would love to see a pic of that bottle.

Guys....i think he used regular gorilla glue not gorilla super glue.
Both gorilla superglues are cyanoacrylate.
I would be running carbon, skimming wet and doing large water changes.
If it said non toxic on the bottle i would feel more comfortable but im not sure it does. Its also not made to bond wet things or underwater.

The only product i use from gorilla is their black duct tape, their wood glue and their 2 part epoxy. Amazing products but their super glue sucks for fragging.

Loctite all the way!

Has there been any issue from the glue @Drewpy ? I filled some spaces in an acrylic container for my new scrubber build (got impatient waiting for the solvent) with this. I’m worried about it being able to stand up to the constant water contact....

I use gorilla superglue gel. Not the best hold but never resulted in water chemistry problem.

Regular gorilla glue? Shouldnt be an issue as long as its cured and bonded properly. (Wont flake off later)
