i am looking for either a maxspect 230 or an icecap 1k. the sooner the better hopefully! thank you R2R community

No doubt those are higher quality, but I started a Jebao CP-150 this week in our 125g mixed reef. In tank flow now includes the CP-150 and (2) PP8's.

Jebao, is making better pumps every year. Out of 6, I've only had 1 fail. I have a lot more flow than the guys spending 4 times as much for 1 pump, except I got all of mine for the same cost and have backup to spare.

Wow did not know jebao made these pumps. How controllable are they? And what is their flow rates?

Thank you for the info guys

I have a friend that bought the cp25 and the icecap 1k to do a side by side comparison, she sold the ice cap and kept the cp25.

She is really knowledgeable. The new ones have really stepped up.

She said it has all the same bells and whistles.

I don't use an Apex or other controllable system. So, I can't speak to that. They do have their own adjustable controller for various wave modes and speeds.

As far as flow, the specs say 6000-7500GPH for the CP-150 (they make smaller versions)... I don't know how to verify or compare that. We run ours at ~45% along with the (2) PP8's in our 6' 125g mixed reef and EVERYTHING is rocking and the coarse aragonite substrate is moving. It's A LOT of water flowing.

owow, that's pretty cool. i will definitely look into it more. thank you everyone! i appreciate it!
