Tank pests..
The best thing to do with mangroves is to buy them as seeds.
They do not like change in the environment so it would have to be matched from where they came from to where they are going.
As seeds they will (slowly) grow to your tank water.
I love my red mangrove

Im sorry thats total BS I got mine from salt and fresh water from different places. There doing great and I did not need to go buy seeds and wait a year before they can make a difference in my tank. As long as you have the right conditons they'll be alright. They can handle a hurricane remember . You guys always try to over complicate stuff. LOL
