Hi I'm looking for an exterior overflow box for a 120 gallon tank I've never used one before so I'm not sure how to size them any help would be great thanks Kurt I'm located in Griswold on the Eastern side of Connecticut

Hey Kurt, You looking to make or buy?

EDIT: Sorry I miss-read this... like gar said, drilling your tank and install something like a ghosted over is the better option.

Do yourself a favor and drill the tank, it's actually pretty easy.If you don't you'll wish you had.

I'll have to read up on ghosts overflow My initial instinct is to go for something that's quick and easy I have never. drilled a tank and I'm not sure if it's tempered glass or not. What's the main advantage of drilled

It seems like everyone is making a ghosted style over-flow these days (see images below). Main advantage is restarting the siphon if it happens to break; it can something during a power outage. If it breaks when the power comes back on, the pump runs and can over-flowing the DT. With a drilled over-flow that's not an issue as the holes are drilled below the water-line and the drain doesn't depend on a siphon to get the water to the sump.

Here's a video on a ghosted over-flow as an over-few.

As this is going to be hopefully a temporary situation I'm looking to get away cheap with a used external overflow that being said if anyone sees a ghost overflow on Black Friday let me know thanks Kurt
