I need to get one for my new tank. Need 5x filtration. What's a really good one? Anyone selling one? Thanks!

I have a Kent Marine "The Maxxima" 4 stage unit for sale. 60 gpd and filters should have a few months before needing to be changed. It has an added Auto-Shutoff valve and I can throw in a float valve for the autofill. It also includes about 20-30 feet of tubing for extended connection away from a source. I will sell it for $225 shipped. Here is a link to the filter new. The sediment filter and carbon block have been changed to a normal unit, not the original Maxxima Filters:

We have chlorine in the water. So not sure if 4x will work? Can another be added? I was just talking with my husband and he wants a whole house filtration unit now. I have no idea where to look for that. Anyone use this for tank RO too?

You certainly can add filters to any unit. I bought an expansion on eBay for my other unit to make it a 6 stage. I just bought a dual unit and added an extra carbon filter and extra DI resin to add that extra filtration.

I don't think Chlorine is an issue, it is Chloramine that the normal filters can't remove. But they have filters that are specific for Chloramine removal as well if that is your concern.

You are right chloramine. I need to check into a whole house filter too but it may take a bit. If you sell it before then it's fine. Thanks!!

I don't think house units are much different. Check around on the Internet for some if these filter places and they will have home units too. I think the main difference is you will have a reservoir and a pump for the water faucet.

Ok I got a RODI and drinking water unit from filters direct. Will deal with whole house later... Ill probably be taking plenty of baths in my tank water anyways... Got the RD 106 with additional DI chamber for the fish side. Also bumped it up to 150 gph. Should be fine for what they need and I wont have to buy bottled water.
