Not to deter a possible sale from someone but for $96 you can get a brand new Reefkeeper Lite which comes with a 4 plug module for the lights and a temp probe, and for another $67 and $30 you can get a SL1 module and pH probe all new. The expandability is endless and you have a new warranty. I am looking at this route myself after getting tired of so many different pieces of equipment under my stand.

I know where you are coming from, most everything I own was previously broken in! When I first started looking at even basic controllers they were in the $250 and up range for a very basic hard to program system with little expandability. Prices sure are getting competitive and the functions are endless.

You carry USED Reef Keeper Lite units in stock when they were just released by the manufacturer last month??!! I doubt it!

that RK lite is very nice and carries a good price. dave you would go wrong with it. if you only looking to do those items you listed. Level one was like 99 or something not sure its still on sale but thats a buy.
i have one and happy with it so far. LEVEL 3 RK lite with a switch ket, maybe i trade in the head unit and get the elite down the road!

Thanks, killing. If I can't find a used controller that will do what I want for under $200 in the next few months, I'll probably get an RKL. I think I need the RKL Level 3 for what I need to do (see first post in this thread), so that's $265. For that money, I want to look for used equipment for a while.

I am not ready to sell yet but from what I understand my new controller should be ready within a month. If you can wait that long I will have a neptune systems aquacontroller jr with a dc8. As it sits it will do all you are asking for 8 outlets that can control lights or chiller or calcium reactor or whatever you want including pumps. It has a temp probe and ph probe. Just over a year old and still operates like new. I got a deal on a new neptune apex is the only reason to sell it.

I'm not particularly concerned about the lighting on the LCD display, as I want to mainly use it with a computer. I'm a professor of computer science, after all!

OK, Rob. Thanks. But, again, I don't see any post about yours. What is it? ACII? What accessories does it have? pH probe? temp probe? It sounds like it has a dc8.

Rob, I'm sorry. I do see the post (it's in this thread). It's an AC Jr. I got confused somehow. Yours is the one that will be availalble in a month or so. Sorry.
It has a connection to a computer? Do you have pics?

Yes it has a serial port on the dc8. I have never connected it to the computer but my friend and I bought them on the same order the same day and he connected his to his computer. I can run the simple dos commands faster than I can turn a computer on and plug it in so I don't see the need. Lots of people like it on the computer though. There is a free interface software download on neptunes site.
