Waters, I believe yours is likely a tortusa, the growth on austera is a bit different ime. Pecan2phat I would also say has a tortusa.

Mines been in this spot for 5+ months at the bottom of the tank, probably receiving 150-200 par tops? Maybe? And it’s definitely growing well. Had I had the space, I’d probably place it higher up.

I have had my yellow frag for a couple weeks. When did the yellow coloring show? I have not seen Day time poly extension like my other austera and Bali slimer acros. When did you see polyp extension? It is in lighting from 250 to 375 par, with solid flow.

Man I miss that yellow tip. I can’t really remember the specifics of it, as it was in my since shut down 240g tank. However in that tank, I had TONS of flow and light (4, 48” reef breeders LEDS on 100% and 9 Tunze pumps), and everything in that tank was thriving. I lost everything during my move, so I really don’t remember when I started to see PE, but the yellow tips didn’t come out until it was getting new growth, and larger.

This coral has been around for over two decades, well before WWC existed. We called it a yellow tip austera back then. Putting the WWC prefix on the coral just made it more marketable.

Anyways, it needs to be growing and thriving and under high par if you want to see yellowish tips. Also under whiter light the tips will look more yellow.........heavy blue the tips will visually look more green.

Ok thank you both. I have it at around 340-360 par but only have whiter light for 4 hours in the day rest is blue probably why it appears more blue right now.

The slimmer austerra has PE right now. I will be patient with the yellow tip one.
