WWIII 200DD

I like your fish room!! You have any more pictures? I'm still planning mine out and looking for ideas.

Have you thought about using a 40B or 75 for a sump? I think the tanks look nicer then Rubbermaid tubs and cost a lot less then acrylic sumps.

Yeah I've got a lot of pics. I'm going to try and start from the beginning here at some point.

I've been spoiled now with the Vertex sump, if I switch I will probably do a custom sump. Just need to decide if I want to spend the money. I've been looking at Bashsea sumps. Their signature series is very nice, but I want a few custom options and I want a little more volume. I'm thinking 6ft x 18" x 18". No rush as the vertex sump works just fine for now.

I'll try to get some more pics up later today!

I agree Bashsea does make some really cool looking sumps. Whats the price tag on a 6' x 18" x 18" sump?

Nice tank security system you have there. Hows the dog doing with the new baby? You getting any sleep? ;)

Love th etank and set up. Why is my favorite part of your fish room the paper towel holder on the right? lol

Haha! Probably gets used the most! Just having all the space and constantly being able to improve and change things up is what I like the most. Having the mixing station behing the "wall" is nice! I'm thinking to re-do it all again at some point this year.

Bashsea said around $1300 on the low end for that size with all the signature series features/design. I would have 3 1.5" inputs and a 1.5" bulkhead for the external pump as well. I really want a 56" x 20" x 20" but they told me that would be quite a bit more as they have no programs designed for that footprint. I need to decide exactly what I want and get a quote.

The baby and dogs have done really well so far! I have that female doberman in the pic, another male doberman and a little brown mutt dog. The female in my pic is definitely the most interested in the baby, she's snuck in a few licks. We are extremely careful though, no free range baby with dogs. The sleep part has been really good here as of late! She sleeps through the night most nights now thankfully! Had to have a few weeks acclimation period in the beginning. Lol

Just thought I'd do a quick picture update. Added some GHL equipment...

That is pretty cool.

Thank you sir! Still working on it, built the cabinet this past weekend. As everyone knows it takes twice as long to install big changes on a running tank. Still have to do some electrical work, build a cabinet for the powerbars and do some more organizing .

I am a organization person, and like have everything line out. The GHL complete dosing system is quite impressive.

Very cool tank and set up.
One to follow!

Thank you sir! This tank is over 2 years old. I really struggled with getting this tank "happy". I blame it on the dry rock that I used, but don't know if that's the whole truth. Finally over the past 6 months or so all corals, including sps, have been doing great and growing well!

Here's 2 months worth of growth on a tiny green WD frag now that the tank is stable and happy...

Sump upgrade in da house! Well at least in my garage... will be putting online hopefully in the next week or so. Can't say enough how awesome @Crystal Reef Aquatics was the whole way from purchase to delivery on this new stealth sump! Stoked to find a sump this size "off the shelf" and the design, features, quality are all top notch! From Washington state to Louisville KY, this sump will be a major fishroom upgrade!

Looking forward to see this beast wet!

Can't believe it's almost July and I haven't gotten the new sump in place yet! I have purchased all the plumbing I need and moved the sump into the basement. Hopefully within the next week or so I will make the transition and get this thing online! I have to do a little wood work to get the "platforms" up to size and am also looking to buy some black pvc sheets to cover the barn style t11 plywood.

I will have the growout tank drains T into the display drains, all going into the 3 sump bulkheads. Hopefully all will go as planned and will post updates here when I get to it!

Thanks!

Getting ready to do the sump switcharoo here soon. I know I keep saying that, but I swear I'm close. Lol. Just purchased an abyzz pump, a couple more valves I needed, a kessil for the refugium, and 8 sheets of black pvc sheet 4' x 8'. I think I have everything I need now to make the move.

I'm trying to future proof my sump setup for the possibility of a slightly larger custom display down the road (6 foot). As for the current display I will probably keep it mixed reef, but I haven't purchased anything besides sps, 95% acropora, in the last 6 months or so. My wife likes the euphyllia and "flowy" corals, so that's why most of those are in there. I myself wouldn't mind having SPS dominant, with a couple really nice torches on the sand. That's probably the direction I will go with the next tank, but will be some time before that happens. Seems I'm headed that way with the current display anyways.

I plan to setup a acropora tank in the basement with the vertex sump underneath it, once I switch out the sump on my main display. Hopefully I can handle 3 separate systems (QT, display, acro tank). The ghl gear and fishroom make it a little easier, but we shall see!
