Hi. Torn about what to do so am soliciting you all's input. For the same price and convenience, what would you do for an upgrade from an existing RSM130(34G) to a 5' long tank? The additional tidbit is that I am going to do a basement sump for either option. I already have a sump already.

A) Red Sea Reefer 525XL + sump + white stand OR
B) SC Aquarium 150G + custom stand that matches what the wife wants in a beachy theme stand + pre-drilled for 20" Synergy overflow

Pros of option A:
Possible higher resell value
Clean look
Lots of users experience to get ideas from
Aftermarket add-ons(screens and parts)

Cons of option A:
Not benefiting from the close loop design because I will be using a basement sump(included sump will be packed away in case of resell later)
108 gallon in display

Pros of option B:
150 gallon in display to fit fish that are recommended for 125g+
Wife acceptance factor with the custom stand that matches the decor she has going

Cons of option B:
SCA quality control may not be as high as Red Sea
Additional $250 on top of option A for the 20" Synergy overflow
Not as desirable when it comes to resell vs. Red Sea Reefer

Please help me decide. Thanks.

I really like your comparisons. For me it'd be option A. My next tank (no matter what my wife says :P) is going to be the red sea reefer.

Welcome to R2R !

I would go option A because Red Sea produce very nice tanks. Or go option C which is Max S Series!

Thanks Crabs and SPR1968 for your feedback and welcome.

Option C(Max 650) is not in the budget and probably would result in a divorce due to dimensions.
