WXM vs. ReefLink - somebody explain why one is better

Ok, so I keep trying to talk myself into buying the wxm, but I keep coming back to the price difference between it and the reeflink. Can someone who has the wxm explain why it is to be preferred over the reeflink? I get that consolidation is somewhat convenient, but the reeflink is $99 new or roughly $70 used (sometimes less) and the wxm is $125 new or $100 used (never seen it less than that). Don't they basically do the same thing?

I paid $60 for my reef link used shipped on here. I have an apex and got the reef link just because it would be much easier to set up as well as being more programmable in terms of little things. I can first off control my pumps off my Apple Watch because reeflink is supported on it which I think is pretty awesome. And they keep up with their updates on the app. Just a lot

Reeflink goes offline a lot. People on FB are constantly complaining about it. That alone led me to buy the WXM.

I like the WXM for Apex integration. Used for my Vortechs, I only have to hit feed mode once. Used my Reeflink for a few months and ended up selling when I got my Apex and bought a WXM. Cost me $75 used.

If you do use the Reeflink, make sure it's hard wired. The wifi on the Reeflink is pretty terrible. If you have a Vectra, Reeflink is the only way to control it. If you have Radions, it also has acclimation modes which the WXM does not.

So far, I'm still leaning toward the reeflink. I only have a single mp40 that would need to turn off while feeding (I leave the return on anyhow).

I think they are very comparable, but the Reeflink has the edge when it comes to tuning. You can't calibrate Radions or the short pulse of the MP's with the WXM. The Vector is a no-go for WXM.

Reeflink allows you to fine tune for best wave effect and low-level light matching between fixtures, but ESL does go down periodically. Most of the complaints I have seen require the user to restart their browser and all works well again. I think there's been a daylong outage and one or two hour long ESL interruptions since I got my Reeflink maybe 4-6 months ago.

I have had a few connectivity issues with my Reeflink where a device drops out. Powering down the device for a minute or so, then restarting resolves that reliably.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either. The WXM gets the nod for Apex integration, but Reeflink allows for finer tuning and Vectra control. Note that I have both, with the Reeflink for my display and the WXM takes care of the basement stuff.
