So did anyone get one of these cameras to watch their tank while you’re away? I got one a few weeks ago and love it. It even has an awesome night vision mode. The video quality is really good plus it doesn’t require a subscription to watch. It even records. Great way to keep an eye on things when you go on vacation and someone helps take care of your tank, so if something is wrong you can see what it is.

My cousin told me about these. It's a really good picture and definitely affordable! I'm getting at least one for my tank. I didn't know it had night vision. That's pretty cool!

I am on vacation at 12 days. I got the pan zoom before i left and it is awesome. Would not do vacation without. My pet sitter just cleans the small amount of front glass in front of the camera.

Just bought it for a birthday gift. Planning on getting a couple for the tank after the tank gets set up.

I'm getting one tonight. Thanks for the idea.

I know it was a must for me as well after I seen a friend have it on his office tank. It was pointed at a ink bird temperature controller. The temp probe fell out of his tank and the heater turned on thinking the water was to cold. So he remotely cut the power to the return pump since the heater was in the sump. Saved him a whole lot of heart ache by not losing any corals. All of this happened while he was on vacation. Luckily he was able to walk me through his system from watching the camera to trace the problem and being someone else’s system I didn’t know what all was hooked up and running everything. But In the end with the help of this camera the tank inhabitants was saved and didn’t die.

Awesome! I have been looking for an inexpensive camera for my tank.

Do I need any accessory? I see Amazon selling it with an SD card or a sense starter pack.

People might want to give this a quick read.

I miss the days you could get a camera and not rely on 3rd party services to view it.

Yeah I saw that. I have two networks in my house, one for computers and "secure" devices, and another for the less secure devices, like Nest, wyze, Google home...pretty much anything that stores data off-site gets gardened off.

I do the same thing. What bothers me even more is the requirement that the cameras stream to 3rd party servers. If you read the ToS on most of them they have the right to access your video stream. Just seems inherently wrong to me.

I want one similar to the old wireless cameras where you could assign it an IP address and access it directly instead of having to do it through a 3rd party server.

I hope that they will come up with a security update quickly to protect their customers. I may hold off on the purchase for a little while to see what Wyze does about it.

Toss them on a isolated guest network, enable 2fa,
I have 8 of the v2, got them when my fur buddy was in hospice last year. They work great.
They also can be used with tinycam

Adding a memory card can be a plus, for review. I have 1 in each stand, for sump and equipment monitoring.
I also have 1 with a 25 or 30 foot usb cable i use to put anywhere i want to monitor, filling buckets, or watching a inkbird on a storage tank, anywhere

Yep the exposed 2.4 million of there customers data no thanks
