I never could keep chaeto alive if my life depended on it. I’ve always had more success keeping and growing Xenia. Here’s a pic of it in my sump along with the smaller GSP. Keeps my nutrients in check (NO3 - 2, PO4 - 0.03). I have a relatively large bioload and run my skimmer part time because of my low nutrients and my corals are happy. Anybody else use Xenia for nutrient control?

I once had a tank with a great cultivar of Xenia that pulsed like crazy, sold it to LFSs and removed a lot of it.....
