I have xenia on a mag rock to keep it from spreading everywhere. It's to the point where I need to frag it. Do I need to cut off part of the mag rock when fragging?

You could just cut each stalk as close to the base as you can. Any tissue left behind should grow back given time so you'll just have to repeat the process over & over again. Piece of cake.

Yup. Plus one.

Also. See that one hanging low from the plug? It's about to drop. If you kinda half scrape with a fingernail it'll pull off pretty easy.

Should i do it outside of the tank? I thought I read any small piece will float away and grow new one

I have a 120 gallon with a rock wall. I was thinking about putting some on the rock wall. I don't want the whole wall to be covered though. Any way I could stop them from spreading?

If it can come out of water it is best but if you don't tear it up bad should be good

. Once it starts growing it goes quick and manual removal is only way I know of I did make a lot of store credit for coral and fish with the trimmings

Cut off a few. The mag rock was soft enough to cut a thin layer off with razor knife. Left enough to easily glue on another rock.
