Hey, so i have a frag of Blue Pusling Xenia, hands down it is the fastest growing piece of Coral in the tank.

I always heard about how invasive it can be if you aren't careful.

I have a young mixed tank with mostly LPS. Do you think i should remove the Xenia before it gets out of hand? I've heard it compared to GSP in terms of basically being a "weed" and i don't want to be kicking myself in a year if it has completely taken over my tank.

Thoughts?

I personally like Xenia and have always kept it on its own island as it can take over a tank!

I like it, i enjoy how free flowing it is and the look. but i can definitely see how it could be a pain later on in a tank.

I would pull it and maybe put in your refugium if you have one
I do have a fuge, but it's not really inhabitable. I would say it's 8.5x10 and 10 inches deep, of that i have a 8x8x4 block of Marinepure. and i have Chaeto in there, i also only light it reverse of the tank light.

Would you just pull a bunch of it out like people do macro algea?[/

I have never done it myself, I just know folks who do.

I don’t know what they do, so I don’t want to give the wrong advice.
