So i have had a thriving Xenia population for many (6-8) months and have occasionally seen heads look like whats in the photos. However i have now lost patches of Pom Pom and im not quite sure why. I feel like my water params are actually really good (for a soft coral tank) and have not fluctuated much over the many months. Has anyone seen Xenia do this? Do you know why? Or is this something getting a snack? Everything else in my tank looks great and is growing.

Ph- 8.2
Nitrates - 3 - 7
Phosphate - 0.02
Temp 78.2 - 78.8

The xenia I have in my tank is next to impossible to kill, so either something is nibbling or there may simply be too much flow in that particular spot. What do you all have for reef inhabitants (suspects)?

Elevate height and assure moderate light and water flow and Nitrate range of .10 -.15

I would watch out for the emerald crab! Mine clearly ate zoas and ate a big chunk out of my clam. I will never have one again!
