My Xenia is closed up on itself, is there a problem or is this normal. Introduced to tank 2 days ago and all was well, home today and it looks like this.

Thank you in advance for you help

I'm sorry for the ignorance, but what is SG? I also just tested my water temp and it has spiked from 80 to 88. Going to get a new heater for good measure.

Ha ha ha, when I saw this in tank emergency, I expected you had some problem with a huge population (as xenia is likely to do, you should probably remove it from your main rockwork, its a weed coral)

SG is salt gravity
"Specific Gravity", actually - but the idea is right; it's a measure of the (in our cases) salt in the water. :-)

Xenia is a pretty hardy - as was said; Xenia i often considered a "weed coral" it grows so fast. I have some in my tank and in the year+ I've had it, I've removed factors times more than what I started with (which was a frag about your size). Give it some time; it should recover and start to grow out in leap and bounds.

When I had a bunch of Xenia the only time I saw it retract like that was when I let the alk get too low. I’m sure any major water paremeter swing will prob cause this though. I think it grows well under most stable (high or low) conditions but will act out when something changes pretty fast.

Are you sure you don’t want to rip it off now while it’s in a weakened state..... Just kidding

I think u get the temp back down and it'll be fine .
