I’ve had the Xenia for about a month, it was doing good and opened up after a few days but the crabs kept knocking it down. I bought better glue after a while and changed its placement in the tank and it hasn’t opened up since it’s been about 10 days it hasn’t opened up at all

When I took it out I noticed it released an oily substance (it floats) and the brown jelly part just gets diluted in the water.

i also noticed fewer polyps (its a very small Xenia)

What should I do? What should I test for? I took it out for precaution but would it harm anything if I kept it in the tank?

parameters are good so far. Haven’t tested mag yet. All my corals are LPS and softies (+Zoas) and they’re doing super great!

Nitrates have been steadily decreasing into the 6-12ppm range these days. (NYOS nitrate test kit) it’s never been in the 6ppm range
