I got this Xenia like two to three days ago. The first day she was open and pulsing and now she’s been closed for a day or two. Help?

Do you have an insane amount of flow on it? Xenia I found didn’t open the first day I got them. But so easy to keep. I find for me a Gentle sway is perfect for them if you can’t see them pulse too much flow. IMO maybe stressed from tank changes

There’s a gentle flow on it.

It’s really hard to diagnose without more info and pics.
lighting?
Parameters?
Basic equipment?
Placement?

It’s in a fluval tank so it’s just the basic light for that. I tested the water and there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong. The water temp is 75-78 degrees.

Xenia are extremely hardy. It seems that you don’t have much flow in your tank. This could be a problem for oxygen and nutrient exchange. I don’t have much experience with smaller aquariums and I’m not familiar with the lighting on that either. But on a hunch, I’m thinking lighting and flow. Xenia need some flow and they primarily feed by lighting. Perhaps someone with a similar tank can chime in.

I keep a fair amount of pulsing Xenia in my tank. I keep mine under intense lighting and in
moderate flow.

I have a 26g bowfront. When I first got them, I had just a simple light from petco. However, when I changed my lights and my flow just a little my xenia TOOK OFF in growth. I literally cut 5-6 thick stalks a week...I literally just finished . My advice would be to ramp up your lighting if you can. Flow in my tank is about 1600gph between 2 pulsing pumps if that helps.

**Don't mind the aiptasia, it's a continuing problem I'm trying to beat**

I couldn't view the video, is this an Evo 13.5 G, I run one as well as my big tank, what do you have for flow?

Yes it is. And I’m not sure about the flow. It’s a gentle flow. Would you suggest putting the flow a bit more on it?

I have the Fluval 13.5. I had to move my Xenia quite a few times because they looked disgruntled just like yours until I found their happy place. They are now on a separate island in the back left corner under the 2 stock duck bill return nozzles. Two months later they look like this and have managed to send babies to my main rock several inches away.
