Xenia?

About 3-4 months ago had a decent xenia going until one day I came home from work to find the emerald crab that road in on a live rock had cut it up and was waving it around like he was in the high school color guard or something. The coral plug it was on I just left it in the tank, Well I noticed the other day I that something had started groaning that hadn’t been there. It’s the soft guy between the gsp’s. What exactly is that? I got some more gsp’s last week and noticed the same thing on the bottom of one of gsp frags. For what it’s worth both the gsp and xenia came from the same fish shop and same tank. Thanks!

Not Xenia but aptasia. Place plug in container of tank water and scrape it off and discard
You can also smother with kalk powder mixed into a paste the consistency of toothpaste and it will melt away

Thanks will do! I’m still newer to saltwater so I was hoping it might of been part of the xenia that lived lol.

Do exactly as vettguy said . Do not scrape it off in the tank it likely spread like weeds . Horrible things

I pulled that whole plug out and trashed it lol the gsp frag that has a small one on it I pulled it out and left it in a container until I get back home from work and I’ll take care of it then! Appreciate it!
