Howdy, so I'm debating between a pair of XF330s or a pair of gyre 2ks for my 40B. The 2k is a bit cheaper and has wifi already built in while the xf330 has flow guards, nem guards and has color coded impellers. I like my MP10s, but I have some dead spots. What's everyone's opinions on these pumps?

Not to muddy the water but have you seen the Red Sea Reefwave? I'm considering going with that one because I use ReefLeds already

40 Breeder? A pair of those will be too much let alone one. Unless it is a really mature tank, with a lot of rock and coral growth to break up the flow. I tried to place my XF250 in my 40 Breeder and it was a mess. On the other hand if you are planning an upgrade in the future you are only buying them once and will be able to re-use them for sure.

I prefer the XF's myself, owning a pair of 250's. Just do a bit more digging around on the Gyres through because they move water. I mean they really move water and a pair of the large ones in the 40 is going to have water going over the sides if you get it too high.

Thanks! I want to upgrade to something in the 100 gallon display range, but that wont be for a little while. Im currently running my MP10s on an alternating 6 hour 50% reef crest, 50% constant on opposite sides which is about 750 gph per pump. I figured if I got either the xf330 or 2k pair, I could try them on lower settings in anti-sync while the MP10s were on the back providing the random bursts. If that was too much, I could try running one impeller or taking out the MP10s entirely. Thoughts on this?

Also heres a current FTS to give you a better idea of my rock structure and coral placement

Love my ReefLed90s, I had AI Primes before that and I feel like they are a step up.

That's awesome! I currently have a pair of prime hd's on a 20L and so far im pretty happy with them. I have been debating on a red sea reefer upgrade and the lights do interest me
