I finally was able to order two XF350 Gyres to replace the WAVs I purchased due to Gyre availability and have to say I’m very impressed. These two Gyres are dead quiet, cannot beat them at all. I no longer have fish waste on the sand in certain areas and the RBTA really seems to like the extra flow. Someone told me it would be way too much flow for my tank, they were wrong. There is plenty of room to turn things down, if needed, but currently plan to keep it the way things are. Biggest surprise? PH is rising due to the increased surface agitation. I hit 8.1 for the first time last night after the install. Will continue to monitor and hope a hair more of a rise will happen. Installation was a breeze. Two thumbs up from me!

Great to hear! I’ve been thinking about getting a set of the new style as my 280’s are starting to wear out. I’m sure the 350’s will do fine in my 240 as I only run the 280’s at 50%

Just found the missing green chromis, on the bottom of the gyre intake! It had disappeared a few days ago and couldn’t find it. The more directional flow of the WAVs just cannot get to every nook and cranny. This type of flow is so much more like nature.

The RBTA usually isn’t out this early in the morning, but it was out when I got up at 6:30. Good changes happening after adding these Gyres.

They are great, I have x2 of the 280's on my 150. What flow pattern and % are you running?
Right now I’ve changed to OGC (ocean gyre cycle) with max 50% and min 40%...think those numbers are default. I was going to use the lunar cycle mode, but don’t believe there is a way to synchronize it with the Neptune lunar module.

i have dual 350's on my 135.. on back wall facing front.. im running lunar cycle.. and i have the optional wireless controller so i seen what these things can do and took alot of adjustments so it didnt make tank look like a tornado in a trailerpark.. LOL

as stated tho once they get up in speed the sound increases a bit but sitting 10 feet away on couch can't hear a dang thing ...

I hear sound, but it's the sound of water moving, not pumps whirring.

I got mine fairly close to the top of the tank if I run em 100% is when I hear them but that’s a dead quiet room ... the fans on my lights are actually still louder tho

I've got an 80g deep blue rimless I've got one icecap 1k on the one side and hydor wavemakrr on the other end flow seems to be great since my return is a vectra m2 (overkill I know) spilt in tank to hit hard to reach spots. There onlyn place that's got detritus is right under the gyre. I've been worried about going past 50% because I thought it actually might be to much. Should I reconsider? It's on the oppsiing side of the overflow .

I went with two gyres, that being one reason. The gyre losing steam as it circles back around, but running one on each side lets each side of the tank take turns with the flow. You'd have to play with it man. If you want to see how it does, go ahead. I have no idea about your tank and that specific gyre model. These Maxspect X350 pumps are pushing up to 5280 GPH at max, so much stronger than the single pump you're running, but also a much smaller tank than my 210.
