Hey there, Ive been having an issue with my ATO. Ive noticed sometimes it over fills to the 2nd sensor. Which if i estimate its about 2 gallons of extra water. I need to try to figure out how to stop this from happening. I do not have a sump so it has to sit inside of my DT which sucks because my snails seem to love to set the alarm off sometimes. Biggest issue is I have BRS Kalkwasser in with my top off RODI water to maintain my Alk and Cal and i don't want to overdose my system over and over again even though im using the least amount in there. Any ideas?

Is it somehow syphoning? Is your ato container on the ground?

ive only had the ato for a month?
If you havent cleaned it at all yet i would start there. Especially if the kalk is being added near the sensor it can get some build up on it fairly easy. I had a tank set up that way for a while and I had cleaned the sensor weekly.

okay ill try this and hope for the best lol

Silly question, but is there a reason you didnt go with the sumpless model since you don't have a sump?

50 compared to 500 lol to better answer your question im newer to the hobby and should have gone with a better tank with everything i have bought since i started. I do plan on getting a different tank in the future.

I mean the sumpless model ato from xp aqua.

I misunderstood your question lol its the same thing just with out the surface skimmer
But wouldnt the sensor go inside the surface skimmer? Wouldnt the sensor only be filling up the surface skimmer level and not the tank? That's much less water volume in there than the tanks fill line without a skimmer box. Unless I'm miss understanding how the sumpless one works.

I prefer the regular version because it's cheaper and less intrusive in the tank. I was able to hide it under the rim and keep it out of sight. Plus future proof if you do get a sump

I actually have the regular model. Unfortunately it stopped working and just recently shipped back for warranty. Filling tank by hand every day sucks and I dont know how I ever lived without an ato. Lol

when i did look at both versions of the ATO it did concern me the same way you are wondering how it would work...lol
