XP Aqua Duetto Pump cord extension

So I’m setting up a new tank and I have an XPAqua Duetto lying around. As I was doing all the wire management in the cabinet, of course the pump cord that came with it was about 18in too short.

I messaged their support and they directed me to a link to an extension sold by CoralVue. It’s $20 plus shipping. I mean I’ll buy it if I have to, but looking around Amazon, cords seem to be like $5.

I found a cord that seems to be the exact same however it’s 22AWG instead of 24AWG. It’s a bit thicker.

Will this work?

Writing on the XPAqua cord is - “E494205 AWM STYLE 2464 24AWG 80C 300V VW-1”

The one on Amazon is - “AWM STYLE 2464 E316505 VW-1 80C 300V 22AWG”

I'm no electrical guru, but here's my take... since nobody else is offering help.

The difference between 22 gauge and 24 gauge wire is almost insignificant. And slightly bigger wire often gets used in longer runs of cord.
