XP ATO Duetto

Hey guys, I recently purchased an XP ATO Duetto from marine depot. For the first month or so it working flawlessly, then just the other day as I was coming home from work I smelt a burning plastic smell which later came to my attention was the controller for the ATO. I’m looking for some insight as to if why this might have happened and how to prevent it from happening on future products I buy. I will attach a photo of the back of the controller

I've had that ATO for about a year and i'm a big fan, haven't had any issues. i think this is the first time i've seen anyone have an issue with it so new one should be good
