I recently happened into an incredible craigslist deal which has resulted in me beginning an upgrade. The tank is a redsea 425xl and is roughly 47" wide and 22" deep. The tank came with two ecotech xr15's and I am hoping this will be adequate for my reef.

My current reef is thriving in a 40b under 2 ocean revive t247 set on 10 power blue and 5 power white. I have only soft and lps coral which are almost all growing like weeds.

Thanks!

I would add two Coral plus, or two C+ and two Blue plus T5s to the led fixtures myself, but I’m bothered by point source lighting. Light in the ocean comes from the suns path moving all day long, so I figure I need to try to replicate that if I can for coral.

With only softies and LPS it may be too much light. XR15s are not known to be low power lights, one of the best lights on the market.
