I have 2 xr15s and t5s on my current set up. It's a 75g set about 8 in off the water and about 18in to the sand bed. I am going to pick up a 150 that is 31in deep. Am I asking for trouble trying to run my current lights on this deeper tank?

I think you are going to have to consider going with XR30's on a tank that deep.
Or do low light corals lower down in the tank.

What do you want to grow? That could be totally fine. You could need more. If you are at 35%, then you still have room to turn the xr15s up.

As jda said depends on stock as well as coral placement. Place the coral under the light and crank them up as needed.
If you want coral from end to end I don't think 2 xr15 are going to cut it unless you have enough t5s to take up the slack.

Must be the T5's. I was getting 180 par with my XR15's at 8" deep and 8" above the water at 60%. And that's with a pair of Reef Brite XHO's

Thank you for the responses. My corals definitely love the T5s. The radion is clearly a good light. Many people have great success with it. My tank is 100% happier looking when the T5 cycle is going though. It could just be the bump in par. I have no idea. My concern is with the 15s being able to punch that deep into water. I can't afford to put 2 30s on the tank if it doesn't work out. I will have to rearrange the corals and rock anyway so it seems that the general consensus is it appears it would be ok considering coral placement and type?
