Xr15 or xr30 G4 pro

Okay so I'm sure plenty of folks have asked this question but can't seem to find anyone with the same tank dimensions as mine. I have a 24x24xx16 40g shallow. I'm looking into trying out the radions I currently have the hydra 26 and I'm not happy with them. Which one of these should I get oh and I'm looking to keep both sps and lps leaning more towards the sps side. TIA

Is your hydra a 26 HD?
If it is you will not like the Radions.
I had a 60 cube with the
Hydra 26 HD and grew SPS in there due to the override you do on them.

IMO I would go with a XR30 pro facing side to side. That would cover pretty much the whole tank easily and since your tank is shallow you could raise it up a little higher and turn up the intensity of the LED to get full coverage. Believe me this light is really powerful! Hope this helps!

No i have the original ones. And it's been nothing but disappointment for me I managed to get a few corals to adapt to them well but they never really grew any. It got to the point where I didn't really care about my tank anymore but now I'm trying to get back in the swing of things and give it another try but with a different fixture. Before leds I had t5s and they worked great I guess it's just a huge difference between leds and t5s.

Believe me! You'll be happy with the XR30 pro alone, but that T5 add on fixture is fire! No, I don't know where to get those mounting arms but if you find out let me know. I'll be needing some also

I have the Hydras and love them. I seen a set up with the xr15's on them today and they didn't put out that much light. All the SPS had shadows and the shadow side of things didn't grow well, well didn't grow at all. He plans on adding T5's to the ends. I am unsure if the Xr30's are any better. I went from Hydra to Hydra HD and love them. If your stuff isn't growing I would check your supplements and ensure you're getting enough nutrients as I never had issues growing anything. The light spread is certainly enough on the HD's as well. Radeons and Hydra's aren't drastically different either.

I'm sure there is not much difference in the hydras and Radions. I can just speak of the Radions because that's what I currently have and they are blindingly bright. And yes that aquatic life fixture is definitely sexy! Hahaha!

In that case shoot for a Xr30 pro 4.
But be careful as already mentioned you will fry your corals if set to high.
Use the acclimation mode and your corals will love you for it.

Nope, Apex doesn't support the radion lights, only the vortech pump if you have a WXM module.

Apex does support radion lights with a wxm. Only difference is if you would like to acclimate the corals you set the intensity lower.

Well, that's new to me.
The software data is only designed for the vortech pumps years ago.
Not even the Vectra pump will work on the WXM

I just updated my firmware on my apex and it does support the radion lights with the way module but I think I'm just going to buy the reef link congroller and take off my vortec pumps off the apex I plan on buying the vectra s1 as well
