Are the fans supposed to run 24/7 even if the LED's are off? Lunar cycle off as well? If so, why?

Unfortunately yes. All radions do that. The fan keeps running until you unplug it. Why? I don't know. I have the same question myself as well.

Yep they run all the time...My guess is that there is not any sort of fan controller integrated into the light. Would be cool if the fan speed could ramp up and ramp down based on temperature.

$800 light and no fan controller... just seems silly

If you have an aquarium controller you can double control the lights. I have my lights programmed on reeflink for intensity and ramp, but have the outlets programmed to turn off on my apex 15 mins after reeflink turns them off. It takes up eb8 outlets (in my case, three), but relieves 24 hours of strain on the fans. Just an option.

Yes that would be an alternative but there has to be a reason why the fans stay on 24/7. I mean, I don't see the need but apparently @EcoTech Marine does...

The Gen3pro onwards have heat controlled fans that will ramp up and down as required but will never shut off completely. They shut off on the xr15 model because the cooling fan is on the top of the unit. The xr30 fans run all the time to help with moisture control and salt creep.

I think a lot of the other lights mentioned have top mounted fans...

Put them into the 15amp outlet with a 3-way splitter to get back 2 em8 outlets.
