Yahsa Goby and Pistol Shrimp from Florida?

So I recently picked up a neat pistol shrimp from my LFS. They noted it was caught in Florida. I've been wanting to pair it up with a goby, and have had my eye on a Yasha. Given they are from different parts of the world, will they pair up? My LFS thought they would but seeking a other opinions given the cost of the Yasha, and my small tank will have limited real estate for stocking.

That depends on what species of pistol shrimp you have, but I'm going to go with no. Does it make a burrow in sand? Or does it burrow in rock?

It made a burrow in the sand under one of my rocks. Has 2 or 3 openings.
