Hi, I don't know if this is considered an emergency, but I'm still worried. So today I got a yasha goby and red banded pistol shrimp and the shrimp is very active and I see the tail of the yasha goby, but it's not really moving? Should I be worried or is this just because it's stressed?

Hey there, how was it acting in the bucket or bag before putting it in? Is there a bunch of other fishes in tank? Have you tried to feed yet today? Are the lights off in tank ? My goby is completely out of site the second the main lights start to go down.

Likely behavior from new intro. Would Not be abnormal...……. see what the morning brings. bet it'll be exploring the tank !!

it was pretty active and eating. There's a pair of clownfish, but are not bothering the goby. I haven't fed it and I put it in when the lights were off so idk.

I added a bonded yasha pair to my tank 3 weeks ago, I JUST started seeing them this week. for a while I was checking nitrates and fearing for the worst to see a major spike, but they are fine. I'd say your could be just having a stress incident

ok thanks!

Any news? Yashas can be very timid initially, more so than some other sand-dwelling gobies.

I see the pistol and yasha’s hope, but only rarely see the pistol and none of the yasha. Tried to feed them but saw the pistol for a quick second, just gotta wait i guess.

I flashed a light into the yasha/pistol hole around 12 am and saw the yasha and it dashed back from sight! At least he's still alive.

Ime yashas are a bit shy at first , eventually he will start coming out and being more active.. try squirting some food his way, but dont get too close

Late responding, my Yasha vanished for three weeks, reappeared with shrimp as though nothing happened. They seem to take a long time to recover from environmental stress like changing aquascape.

Once my yasha was acclimated to the tank it started coming out a little and hanging outside of his cave. Otherwise it is very timid and mostly only comes out during feeding.
