Hi I got a Yasha goby about a week and a half ago to replace my dead watchmen. He immediately darted into my brittle stars borrow the the next day I saw him find his way to my candy cane pistol shrimps borrow I saw him all day the the next day he just disappeared all the day a i saw him the shrimp and hem were digging the borrow but now he does not guard the borrow. Can anyone tell me where he possibly could have gone? and do osha goby hide a lot?

I do not have a Yasha. However, I have a YWG and a redfin gobbies that have dissapeared for 3+ months at a time. I thought them dead and then suddenly reappeared. So I wouldn't panic just yet.

He's either sleeping with the shrimp or the fishes...

I wouldn’t worry. My yasha disappeared for 3+ weeks, never came out to eat, assumed he had died. Then one day he just popped out and is always out ever since.

I would try some live food if you can get it. Yasha's can go hide for a good bit and the pair could be using another entrance to the burrow that you don't know of. It's going to be hard to tell if if everything is okay with your new fish without tearing down the tank to look for it and that undo stress would be worse for the inhabitants.

They move burrows constantly until they find their happy spot. Sometimes they will move behind a rock at the back of the tank. IMO they usually settle somewhere in viewing range because that's where the food usually is dropped
