That's a cirolanid isopod - Bad.

Keep checking your filter socks as there are usually more of them. Did you recently add some live rock to your tank?

I have those come in on my gulf live rock. My last batch of rock took about 6 months before I no longer saw them in my socks. The little buggers seem to be attracted to yellow. I've had them attach to yellow tangs and watched them shoot out of the rocks and attach themselves to yellow wrasses. Freaky.

I’ve only got 4 fish, yet to see any on them however the real issue is going to be after I wash the socks in the wash machine and my wife finds one in her pocket

Did you do anything about them or just let the socks catch them?

I just let the socks catch them, but you can set a trap to give you an idea of what you're dealing with. Here's an article that goes over different trapping methods. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/bp/index.php

I tried the shrimp in the inverted soda bottle trick. For me, it wasn't effective at actually trapping them it was more of a diagnostic tool to see how bad my problem was (or wasn't).
