Yeah baby - yeahhh!!!! 150g!!

A note to all prospective Rose Pink Urchin owners: They REALLY like to move stuff around! He's been picking up my snails and crabs and taking them across the tank!

Well, the giveaway this month says to talk about what you're thankful for. I have no intention of entering, as the light would be useless to me with such a big tank...SO...I'm gonna put my thanks here. In no particular order:

I am grateful for:
God, of course;
This beautiful aquarium, and everything in it aside from the aiptasia;
My two new friends, the ones I have connected with the most of anyone ever, who have been incredibly supportive;
My other new friends, here on the forum, helpful and fun to talk to;
My parents, for supporting and loving me since I was born and who put up with my idiocy;
Unique Corals, for offering me some new frags to enjoy (they're not here yet, but I'm excited!!) and getting to meet Scott, which was fun!;
Getting to go to Reefapalooza;
That big chunk of unhappy monti I got there that seems to be recovering (progress shots later);
More if I think of them..I need to sleep XD

AMEN to having a thankful heart!

AAAAANNNNNNNNDDDDDDD brown jelly disease on my duncan. Please excuse me while I go throw a fit.

And I discovered it on the day I had to go back to Mom's, too XP I want to swear...
If my dip treatment didn't work I expect I'll be fragging off the infected heads on Monday.

On a much brighter note, Unique Corals sent me some lovely frags <3 hopefully I can get a picture soon. THANK YOU SCOTT I LOVE THEM!!

Now I have:
A bright pink goniopora from Deep Sea Creations
Various palys, mostly green or purple, and some lovely Sunny D's (came with tank)
Blue-ish ricordea (came with tank)
A few zoas - dunno what they're called (came with tank)
A couple of montis (I think), one reddish, one brown with green polyps (came with tank)
One huge chunk of very bleached monti, not sure what color it will be (fragging demo at Reefapalooza)
One chalice, I have no idea which one, kind of a maroon color with green eyes that's turning green in small patches (came with tank)
Two duncans, one that looks like the UC neon green and one that looks "average" (came with tank)
A huge (in my eyes) dusty green pagoda colony (came with tank)
ANNND
A blue-tip goni (UC)
A purple gorgonian (UC)
An "ultra" acan lord (UC - hasn't opened yet but hasn't disintegrated either)
A Strawberry Shortcake acro (UC)
A blue-tipped acro vermiculata (UC)
An orange yuma mushroom (UC)

Unique Corals treats you right - GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS PLZ!! They've certainly made a longtime customer outta me!

Oh, and Wobbles has been traded at my LFS for some snails. More trouble than he was worth, sadly. Too bad, really - I liked him!

Looking at consigning my tangs and clown to said LFS as well...gotta work out the terms with him...

Don't know yet. Unfortunately I'm not there at the moment. :( I find out Monday.

Here's hoping for the best!
Hurrah! The duncan's lost some flesh but the jelly is gone! Guess my peroxide dip + gentle manual removal worked!

I'm just as happy about my UC frags. n__________n They're doing very well. In case anyone's wondering, I used Bayer for the dip.
Scott has earned a customer for as long as he's in business. <3

In other news, my mag, alk and cal are now all exactly where I want them. <3
Gonna check nitrate and phosphate tomorrow, though I have little faith in the API results. Just sold my sohal today, so maybe I'll use the money to get a proper kit for these params.

Sounds like things are going well! :)

Noticed the two acros browning a bit, so I went ahead and moved them up on the rockwork. I had them on the sand bed to acclimate to the LEDs, but apparently there's not enough light down there.

The money from selling the Sohal Tang has gone to ordering the Red Sea nitrate & phosphate test kit, so no more guessing games with API n_n

Just got it in the mail <3
Nitrate 24
Phosphate .64

Higher than I want them, but a lot lower than my last excuse for a tank had....

OK.....
I have a nasty case of cyano at this point, so I siphoned as much as I could and dosed Chemiclean today. Hopefully it works. I will also attempt to bring my nitrates down via larger water changes and vinegar dosing once the Chemiclean treatment is finished.

I have something from a mixed bag of parts that I suspect is a reactor of some kind...gonna get a photo and ask some questions about it in this thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/eq...um-filtration/183281-reactor.html#post2108042

The acros aren't browning anymore <3 Everything looks good aside from the cyano mess. I wonder if I can use that little reactor for biopellets or somesuch?
