Yellow clown goby eye issue

Hi, reefers.
I bought a yellow clown goby one week ago. I noticed that it not eating 3days ago. And today I found its left eye has some issue, looks a white fil m on it. And the surrounding is red. Attached photo for both eye.

Eye infection likely from scratch or injury
Treatment should be done in separate setting using ethromyacin (Maracyn 1)
Assure ammonia level not elevated
Add aeration during treatment

Thank you for quick response. I tried search Maracyn 1 online but did see it. I saw Maracyn 2 or Maracyn (without 1) which one I should buy? (the brand is Mardel)

Did the goby stop feeding, or has it never fed for you since you got it?

The eye issue is as @vetteguy53081 said, but the not eating is probably unrelated. That needs to be corrected, or curing the eye issue won't save the fish.

What foods have you tried to feed it?

Hi Jay,
It fed the first few days i got it in the tank. It stop feeding since about 3days ago. I feed it mysis , brine shrimp and raw shrimp from grocery. I aslo have a fire fish two clown and one royal gramma. They all feed well.

O.K., then it may have gone off feed due to the eye injury.....

Thanks for all the help, good news, my yellow clown goby little soybean is back in the main tank! Unfortunately one of its eyes is blind, I think the Maracyn is used too late. The following is the timeline and my efforts to save it.

• 04/12 Notice the issue and got suggestions from @vetteguy53081 and @Jay Hemdal. Bought Maracyn from LFS and follow the guide. I don't have a quarantine tank so I used the home depot bucket with 3g of water in it. I added a heater, aeration, and a mini pump afterward.
• 04/13 - 04/15 add Maracyn every day based on the guide. It is not fed(mysis) and getting slimmer.
• 04/16 the fifth day of Maracyn treatment, its eye is not swollen and red any more. I put it in a hand on Fluval breeder box.
• 04/18 After a two-day observation in the breeder box, I notice it start chasing the mysis shrimp I put in the breeder box. So I put him back in the main tank. And I see it fed for the first time since the treatment.

I think it is recovered! But its eye may not able to fully recover. (Hope its eye can also recover in the future)

Depending on severity of injury, at least it is not milky and /or protruding- Great to hear

Its eye may improve over the next few weeks, it takes time. At least it sounds like you stopped the active infection.
