Yellow coris going belly up with prazi

Have a pair of yellow coris wrasse in QT going thru my usual TTM process. One of them immediately goes belly up at the bottom of the tank as soon as prazi is put in the tank. I’ve tried both prazipro and general cure with the same results. Once in clean saltwater the fish acts completely normal.

All the other fish in qt with them appear fine. Any other options? Prazi is something I’ve put all my fish thru and never seen one act like this before.

Hmmm, I’ve never had any issues using pure prazi on wrasses. Prazipro can scavenge oxygen, but aeration resolves that. Only one wrasse is affected makes it even stranger. Sorry, I’ve got nothing....

Thanks Jay. It survived two days on the bottom of the tank and I cut prazi short and it’s been 6 days in clean salt water acting normal. Just another change today with general cure and back to the bottom it went.

Oddly, the praziquantel would have dissipated by 24 hours or so - so I wonder what that is all about?

Jay, this wrasse had noticeably white stringy poop. Could the prazi be effecting the worms inside and that is what is causing the fish to act distressed? Where as the other fish might not have them and is completely fine?

Could be, toxic shock can occur when large numbers of worms die off at one time, but the effect isn’t immediate...more after an hour to a day post treatment.

Some good news, checked on the fish after work today and it’s acting completely normal swimming and eating as usual after 24 hours in the GC
