I just introduced 2 tangs to the tank yesterday and my yellow coris wrasse that I have had for almost a year is missing could it just be hiding in the sandbed because I spooked it?

Yes. Tangs can be very mean.

As stated above just wait it out. What kind of tangs?

Shyness and intimidation and not abnormal. Should pan out- may take a week or two

A yellow and a kole but the wrasse is bigger than the yellow but the kole is bulkier and a tick longer.

With the yellow and kole they are just trying to establish dominance and see who is the head of the tank. It will diminish no worries

My powder blue is a real a hole with new fish. I have to put a mirror on one end of the tank to keep him occupied. It reduces the aggression

I had a red lined Wrasse dissapear for 3 weeks then one day he was out like everything was normal.

Still has not come out yet again though the new kole tang is also kinda shy doesnt come out when i am by the tank.

Also here is my yellow tang

Hi @AC1211, did your wrasse ever come back out? I'm going through the exact same thing! Many thanks in advance

Yes it took 6 weeks on the dot to come out. Yours may not take that long. It came out bigger and fat still so it was eating at night probably.

Thanks @AC1211 , fingers crossed. I'll update this thread with my findings too.

Think I'm on track for a 6 week wait :D

Just documenting for future readers benefit. The wrasse is still not out and about but is alive and well. On occasion I spot his head poking out of the sand watching the world go by! 6 week point is Thursday this week :-D

At least you had a proof of life I had 6 weeks of nothing then it came out half an inch bigger.
