Yellow Coris wrasse is missing...

I had a nice yellow coris wrasse that's been missing since I added my 7" Cuban Hogfish. Do you guys think the Cuban Hogfish ate him? Or is he just afraid of the Cuban Hog and is constantly hiding under the sand? All of my other small fish seems to be too quick to be snacks for the Cuban and I would think the wrasse would be fast enough to avoid being attacked? I've heard of Harly Tusks killing wrasses so maybe they have that same killer mentality?

How big is the tank and how big was/is the yellow wrasse?

Three likely places:

- Hiding as they do this occasionally
- On floor as they are Jumpers
- In sump as they may get through overflow openings and down below

Yea jumpers. Had mine for 4 months and it found the feeding slot in my eggcrate. Found it a few days later as the cat ate 1/2 of it.

300g. He was a good medium size definitely bigger than my cleaner wrasse.

I have covers and I've looked all around the floor. Nothing.

It’s under the sand and it could be up to a week before you see it. If so, it’ll be fine. I’ve owned a bunch of bananas and it’s just something they do sometimes when added to a tank.

Carnivores got to eat. Seems like Hogfish really get hungry as they mature. It's like they can't eat enough, ever.

It still could be there. I’ve also had a melanarus do the same thing and that one hid for a month. A simple test is to use a turkey baster on the sand bed. They hate it and will often shoot out if you squirt them.
