Yellow coris wrasse question

Sup guys I added a yellow coris wrasse to my tank on Saturday and it went right into the sand have not seen it since..is this normal?how long can it stay in the sand without food

Yes, they may hide a day or two.

He's just getting used to the tank will probably surface today or tomorrow when he knows the other fish are feeding.

Not really abnormal. It may have even come out and dipped right back in when it realized it still didn't know where it was. Give it time, It should come around.

I have not seen mine in the sand, but I would bet that is where he beds down. Mine is very active in the tank picking on the rocks grabbing little snacks and a big eater. I added a 6 line the other day, and he hid for two days and was really spooky on the 3rd day but he is eating and swimming the tank now.
