I added a yellow wrasse to my tank about 2 weeks ago. He was hiding the first day but came out and had been swimming around the tank comfortably for about a week. Then after QT I added a yellow eye kole tang and ever since the wrasse has been in the sand. I believe today is day 4. I saw him poke his head out on day 2 but when the tang swam buy he re-burried himself. Has anyone experienced this with a yellow coris. Im hoping he doesn't starve or die in the sand bed.
Thanks!

I owned one. No exaggeration, it went missing for a full month. I searched the sand (I “thought”), searched the carpet, searched the tank’s plumbing, and was convinced he must have died and been promptly consumed. Well— you know how bright yellow they are... can’t miss them— one day a month later as I was walking past the tank, there he was, swimming with the other fish, like the joke was on ME! ;)

Just leave him be. Try not to be around the tank or doing anything in the tank if you can help it. The more you are fooling with stuff, the more likely you are to keep the wrasse spooked and in hiding. He will come out eventually.

Like everyone said just give it time it'll come out it's not going to starve itself. I haven't had a yellow course but I do have a red course wrasse and when I first put it in the tank which is 180 gallon I didn't see him for two weeks thought the fish was dead then out of nowhere it's started coming out. Now it's all over moving anything that's not glued down looking for amphipods.

It's a wrasse. My leopard hides for a week or two at a time when upset.

Just give it time.
