Hey all,

I love yellow fish, but my current setup is just too small to responsibly keep a yellow tang. I've done some research and kind of like the look of the yellow dwarf angel, but it doesn't seem like they're terribly common. Anyone have any experience with them that they'd be willing to share?

Not sure how big your tank is but a quick online search shows that there are at least 3 yellow dwarf angels that are commonly available.

I've owned a lemonpeel angel a while back. It's not a difficult specie to feed but you do need to qt it.

Thanks! I had looked at the LiveAquaria listing before, but was hoping to get some personal tales from owners. Also, none of my LFSes have had any in stock recently; I really prefer to use them for livestock for a comfort factor.

I'd probably settle for a Lemonpeel if my local stores don't carry my preferred Yellow Dwarf option. Was yours pretty peaceful? Any coral picking?

how big is your tank?

Dwarf angels are peaceful as long as there is just one per tank, but any fish can be unusually aggressive if the tank is too small. They will pick on corals. The lemonpeel also have an orange color variation that looks pretty cool. You can also consider a bicolor angel as the colors are nicely contrasting.

As far as I know the lemonpeels are typically the least reef safe. Who knows much of that is just the echo chamber of the internet though.

Never kept a yellow, but have had a few lemonpeels. It's a risky angel and quite likely to pick.
