Ive had this coral for over 4 months, maybe longer. It has yet to open fully. I have moved it 3 times. It is not dead and has no signs of infection, its just shrunken up tight. Not sure what to do. Should I dip it? CoralRx or Iodine? Tank is Nuvo 30L, been up for almost a year. Sal is 1.026. Cal 420-425(Red Sea), Alk 10.3(Hanna), Mag 1280-1300(bringing up slowing), Nitrates <5.

How is the flow in there? I see some SPS so I assume your flow is pretty strong.. Leathers don't like a lot of flow so if it is somewhere getting pounded try moving it to a calm area.
I have one MP10 on the left glass. I will move it to the far right and see how it does. Should i dip. I actually need to trash the birdnest you noticed, pretty sure she is gone lol. That pocillipora(i think thats what it is) seems to be doing well.

Leathers can just be weird when adjusting. ive had one that didnt open fully over a month it would open sparsely a few polyps here and there until one day it was fine and full opened. That fact that you have been moving it is kinda making it readjust to each spot making it restart in a sense to open. Hope that helps.

I would not dip the leather, it is likely upset by the flow..
What are all of your parameters?
What happened to the birds nest?

Okay I will do as you suggest.
Cal425.alk 10.3. Mag 1280-1300
No idea, I picked up some “easy sps” recommended by other hobbyist. 2 birdnest, monti cap and the pocillapora. Everything turned white overnight except the pocillapora. They were cheap so I’m not that upset. I acclimated them like I do everything else.. drip, dip, rodi rinse, in they go. My parameters are have been very stable, that is why I decided to try some sps. I think I need to get my cal up, alk down to 9, and mag up to 150. No coralline yet [emoji30]

I understand that completely. It’s just frustrating Bc it has legit been almost 5 months. I have giving it 1-2 months in between moves. Def think it’s the flow

FWIW, there is really no easy SPS just cheaper ones than the other. They require a different type of care than softies IMO and when first starting out I would advise against a mixed reef and start with softies then work your way up...

Is it a new setup?
What kind of lights?
Do acclimation of corals is necessary, the right thing is to quarantine before going into the display.

11 months. One radion xr30. I’m super new to this so the only qt I have I a 5 gallon for fish. I have 2 clowns and will honestly prob only add 1 more fish.

Ok, I don't mean to sound harsh so if I do please forgive. Forums are like texting and things can get outa whack rapidly when trying to explain things quickly.
Great choice in the light and the first thing I would do is not dose any more alkalinity. It should be a little lower, somewhere around 8.5-9.
LED's can fry leathers, they don't need a ton of light and they like dirtier water. More fish might help you since corals love fish poop....
Try these tips and see where the leather goes from there.

You do not sound harsh at all. Just here to learn. I agree, lots of information, a lot of which contradicts the other. I will give your recommendations a try. A few question, do I just let alk fall on its on? I see this "dirty water" comment a lot, what exactly does that mean? High nitrates? I have a goby in qt rn now, will add him in a couple weeks
