I bought a yellow finger gorgonian this past weekend from a vendor at Reefapoolza. Its doing great in my tank but the vendor put it in a small round container causing one of the stems to bend. Would this cause any issues down the road? I was thinking of fragging it at the bend but not really familiar with best methods of fragging gorgonias. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can just cut it with scissors. Or if it does well, the flesh will grow back over the bone.

Sorry to revive an oldie. I got mine as a single stem that weekend also. It opens daily for feeding, but what's a reasonable amount of time before it should start growing new branches? I haven't seen any new growth forming so I wonder if it's lacking something.

Does gorgonian require constant feeding and they are very hard to keep.

One of my fav coral. It’s beautiful and very different from other sps like Acropora. For me this takes the crown. Have mine for about 2 weeks and been feeding it AF phyto mix and AF liquid rotifers and it has been eating like a champ! All polyps are happy apparently. Hope it keeps like that.

I’ll probably make a second frag out the little one growing from the bottom. Added bonus
