i have a jawfish who decided to burrow underneath a rock early on and seems pretty comfortable with it tried to provide some rubble but I don’t think it was a good size for him to use and he doesn’t use any for his burrow. It reminds me of how a goby or pistol shrimp would burrow. I just was wondering if you guys thought this was normal behavior or if somethings wrong

Always wondered why never tried to build one in the open a bit sad that I didn’t get to see him build anything excpecially

Most jawfish I've had utilize a rock for one side of their burrow. It provides added security and stability. Still provide rubble, they continue to work on their burrow.

I tried to provide some loose small broken up live rock but I think it’s to large because it didn’t even try to use it as far as I can tell

Provide rubble about the size of fingernails, ranging in size from thumbnail to pinky nail, and leave it within his sight from 3-12" away.

That’s a lot more helpful than people just saying rubble I’ll try to get ahold of some of that smaller rubble then
