Hello, I got this coral two days ago and drip acclimated it and put him on the bottom so it could acclimate for a few days, but it folded over this morning and developed a brown spot on it not sure what's wrong with it could anyone tell me what's wrong with it? Sorry for the terrible picture thanks

I would but in an area of moderate flow or higher, blow off the patch with Turkey Baster.,

If no improvement in a couple days, dip, I would use an iodine diluted dip.

If no improvement frag the crown clean of any dead tissue.

So the leather coral died, the water it came in was tinted brown so I assume it released its zooxanthella in the bag got a bacterial infection and died. I'm getting another one since this time it seemed to not be anything wrong with my tank but how it responded to being shipped. Can anyone tell me the best acclimation method for it and if I should dip the coral prior to it going into my tank?

I received a yellow leather from corals.com on 5/28. I sent an email to them regarding specific acclimation for this coral and this is what they sent:

“Here’s what I would suggest as far as acclimation. I’d float the coral its bag for 10-15 minutes in your tank. Put it in a container with the water it came with. Figure out about how much is 15% of the water it came with. Then get that amount of water from your tank and put it in the container right off the bat. Then, over the next 30-45 minutes, I’d slowly add your water to the container so that you have 50% the water it came with and 50% your water. The key is to start getting it used to your water and aquarium parameters. Remember, the corals will always be stressed after an approximate 20 hour transit, so drawing out a long acclimation will only stress them out more. In our opinion, it’s most important to start getting them used to your water and get them tanked in a reasonable amount of time. Make sure it gets good flow and adequate light right from the beginning. Thanks for the order!”

I followed these instructions and also did a 8ish minute dip in Revive. Then put the coral in the sand bed between the glass and rock work where there is a good amount of flow. After 2 days I moved it to the top of the rocks, probably too short of a light acclimation but everything I have read has said that it needs high light and flow.
It seems happy.
