How do you get them to eat?
Had it for almost a week and have not seen it eat anything.
Feed mysis, minced freshwater shrimp , flakes, pellets and seaweed sheets.
I had a Copperband that took a while, but finally got it.
It’s like eat or your going to starve.

Try finely chopped scallops or shrimp. Soak in selcon or vitachem. Make sure it is very finely chopped. Once it eats it will take larger pieces.

I just added a Melanarus Wrasse on Saturday and it eats everything I put in there.
At first mine had a hard time coordinating eating food out of the column. It figured it out after a bit. Just feed enough extra food that there is enough for it to pick some out of the rocks.

Clams on a half shell are often a good starter. For me, butterflies often like worms. I prefer black worms but blood worms could be a good try also.

You could also see what kind of contraption you can make for the fish to put its long nose through for picking at food (various worms, small shrimp, etc.) I’ve used things like tank top netting or gutter guard rolled into a cylinder but anything you can come up with so that the fish reaches into a hole to pick at small food could be helpful.

...also there is a product called Masstick that could be helpful for a new/initially picky fish like a butterfly. I’ve used it before by mixing mysis, black worms, and spirulina brine into it.

Black worms if you can locate them, fish can't resist the wiggling and often get a feeding response from finicky eaters. As mentioned above Masstick, my CBB goes crazy for it when I stick it on the side of the glass. It can be used just as it is or you can mix it with other foods and vitamins.
